If you have been following my blog for sometime, you would know my obsession with collecting lip balms 😀 So when Maybelline came out with additional flavours for Baby Lips, I had to lay my hands on one of them! After the Electro Pops range, this new addition to Baby Lips family is more than welcome 🙂 Thank you Maybelline, for being on your toes all the time and launching so many new products! And all within our budget.. Now that winters are at their coldest and harshest, a lip balm is more than a necessity for everyone. Maybelline launched two new flavours this season – Lychee Addict and Watermelon Smooth. I love lychee more than watermelon, hence picked the Lychee flavour! Let’s check out how this new one fared.
Ingredients: The ingredients list is missing on the pack, I got this from Maybelline USA website:
Octyldodecanol, Polybutene, Petrolatum, Isopropyl Myristate, Polyethylene, Ozokerite, Diisostearyl Malate, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter / Shea Butter, Candelilla Cera / Candelilla Wax / Cire De Candelilla, Vp/Hexadecene Copolymer, Alumina, Aroma / Flavor, Limonene, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Tocopherol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Calcium Aluminum, Borosilicate, Benzyl Alcohol, Silica, Mel / Honey / Miel, Centella Asiatica Extract, Linalool, Citral, Benzyl Benzoate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Polyethylene Terephthalate, Tin Oxide, Aluminum Hydroxide, Acrylates Copolymer, Dimethicone, Parfum / Fragrance [+/- May Contain / Peut Contenir, Ci 77891 / Titanium Dioxide, Ci 45410 / Red 28 Lake, Ci 45380 / Red 22 Lake, Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499 / Iron Oxides, Ci 15985 / Yellow 6 Lake, Ci 15850 / Red 7, Ci 19140 / Yellow 5 Lake, Mica, Ci 42090 / Blue 1 Lake, Ci 75470 / Carmine]

Packaging: Baby Lips Lychee Addict is similar to the other non-tinted lip balms from their regular lipcare range that had Mango-Pie and Anti-oxidant Berry flavours earlier. The new Lychee Addict looks quite similar in packing to the older ones. The theme colors for this new lip balm are pink and mint green. I like them! The balm is a classic twist-up style. They have written the flavour name on the body of the lip balm too, which I have always loved! The cardboard blister pack has the product details. I, however, would have preferred the packing that they have in the US, which has a transparent cap, and a much higher cute-quotient! Indian packing is fine by all means, but a little more cuteness can’t hurt 🙂
My Experience: Baby Lips has been my most favourite lip balm. That’s a big thing for me to say, as not many lip balms work well enough for me. This one is no different. Maybelline has recently reformulated their lip balms, and now claim 12 hour Moisture instead of the earlier 8 hour claim. They also have SPF20, which is extremely good among the budget lip balms.
Color and Scent: This one goes completely clear on the lips. It is only meant for hydration. Would be great for wearing under lipsticks. It does not leave any whitish cast on the lips. The scent takes all the points from me! The lychee scent is perfect to the ‘T’. It is juicy and quite unique 🙂 Love it completely, and I have a feeling I will be reaching out for this lip balm quite a lot ‘coz of this. By the way, it is tasteless. And the scent lasts for about 10 minutes.
Moisturization: This is where Maybelline takes the cake. Their formula suits me really well! 2-3 swipes of this lip balm provide enough moisture for at least 4 hours during the day-time. The 12 hour claim is something which holds true if you wear this lip balm at night. I slept with this on my lips, and found my lips moisturized and soft next morning, with some balm still on my lips (I layer it heavily, but still, a balm clinging on till morning is a very good thing!) It really does prevent lip-chapping if used regularly. This one heals chapped lips too, so I recommend it to all the beauties suffering from chapped lips. The formula is not waxy or heavy. It is just perfect. A few swipes on, and my lips seem to be enveloped in a cozy cushion.. It is super comfortable on my skin.

Hows d electro pink ?
Amazing! I have the pink one too..never seen such a well pigmented lip balm. Plus it’s quite moisturising. Do try it. Highly recommended!
I love a good lip balm and I wear them constantly, often under lipstick as you mentioned here. I’ll have to give baby lips a try! Great post!
http://www.tailoredandtrue.wordpress.com
You definitely should! These are some of the most moisturising ones from drugstore brands! ☺
I’ve always wanted to try these but they do not sell them in the United States. Do you know what countries sell these? Thanks!
Yeah these ones are definitely not in the US. These lipcare ones are available in India and I guess in some other Asian countries. These are also available in Australia. But yeah, the regular baby lips in the US (in quenched, peppermint) might be quite similar to the ones that I have reviewed here. You could grab those ☺
Lovely post and I will definitely check out the product. I would also recommend ‘cherry me’ also in the maybelline baby lips line. It is a gorgeous deep red. Mind checking out my blog charmedchristy.wordpress.com
Thank you Christy! The cherry me variant hasn’t been launched in my country yet 😢 we have similar variants in Baby Lips Loves Color though.. And I have almost all of them! I will definitely check out your blog sweetie 😊 take care xoxo
Good idea putting it on under lippy!! ☺ 💄
Xx
You should definitely try using a lip balm, Maria, especially under long staying matte lipsticks, as it would prevent dryness that these lipsticks cause! 😘
Time to get more lip balms 🙂 love both lychee & watermelon for different reasons 🙂
? i just looooove collecting them. One of my guilty pleasures 😜 you should definitely try this lychee one..smells so good!!
I’m a sucker for Baby Lips as well and totally agree about the electro pink one! I use it in place of lipstick 75% of the time.
Love baby lips! Their variety is amazing plus the formula is great! And I lovveee the electro shock..would be reviewing it soon ☺
Oh my goodness when I read this review I immediately purchased one on ebay! I’ve gone through 3-4 tubes of the Quenched flavor and when I saw that this had SPF 20 I had to get it! Thanks for the review!
I’m so glad you found my review helpful! This one has been my most used lip balm since the time I’ve bought it ☺ hope you would love it too 💖
